Seeing this Quarantine TIME as a reTREAT for self care & health

Firstly I want to ask – “How are you doing in these times of change?” – these times are changing fast and with some uncertainty for many of us.聽So I get if you are feeling overwhelmed, insecure or confused about what to do with all this extra time on your hands – in isolation and worrying… I am here to help!

There are many helpful tools and tips I can share with you, and I will be sharing these week to week, and even up this twice a week in these challenging times. To help聽 EMPOWER people is my PASSION, from 30 years of clinical work as a registered holistic health practitioner. I am excited to share with you and humbled to help you on your health & healing journey!

When you start to apply some of these pro-active steps & tools that I give you below on a daily basis, you will get the hang of applying what is needed for you to be calmer, more grounded and feeling clearer to cope and navigate through these times!

This isolation time is indeed a gift in slowed down time to tune into you & your family’s health needs at this time of virus threat. It is even more crucial than before to balance your holistic health, and that includes balancing your mental health, emotional health, physical body and spiritual needs.

My FIRST 4 HEALTH TIP’S are as follows – this is PART I of a 3 part Isolation Tip’s series… to try and incorporate some (or all!) of these into your daily health regime.. to stay more balanced, energized, clearer and calmer:

1. Meditation & Mindfulness – observing our thoughts is key to not get overwhelmed at this time. To be our own ‘neutral compassionate witness’ and to acknowledge a thought or emotion, but then to LET IT FALL AWAY…. LET IT GO… and come back to breath or an ‘asension statement’ or some use chanting a mantra/ sound.

Our true clear essence where our inner clarity & peace reside is what is constantly there at our core, when we really tap in deeply we can BE with this inner life force/ energy and tap into our inner peace and just BE. The key is to not get lost in our thoughts, not to judge them or criticize them as they will always be there. The more we can become the observer the more stress will fall away and our nervous system will calm. Our brain gets a literal ‘defrag’ and more space. The thoughts become less hectic and start to become fewer. Especially if we find time to sit x2 a day.

If you really can’t sit then when you do your daily walk I invite you to follow each step – left/ right, left/ right and let the rhythm of your walking quieten your mind/ thoughts. You will be nicely surprised how this ‘eyes open’ technique can work too.

To embrace being more mindful in the moment with our eyes open can still be an effective meditative, very present state. Still just observing thoughts but not following them every time and not letting them rule our conscious awake state. The more present we can become in the moment the more time we literally get – it is as if everything is slowed down!! We are calmer and clearer. Concentration and mental clarity/ focus comes a lot easier.

Remember many times what we think usually doesn’t even happen! Worry rob’s us of the future and reflecting back wastes our present moment, as well as regrets or worry of the past has this has already gone. The only thing we have in this moment is the present so the more mindful we can become brings so many gifts and benefits to our well being and state of mind with each day…. IN EACH MOMENT 馃檪

2. Journaling – process and reflect your thoughts, ideas, goals, visions on paper and just through this intimate sharing with yourself on paper you will be surprised what can be processed, reflected on and how much clarity it can bring!

Through journaling we can dive deeper into soul searching, manifesting, what are your dreams… JOURNAL IT ALL! Reflecting and working through ANY BLOCKS, (we can get more specific together with this on a 1:1 call as mentioned below).

Get REAL with yourself and where you see your blocks, where you need help, etc. When it is journaled, we can get perspective on our own inner talk/ process/ sub-conscious聽and we can get a FRESH OUTLOOK and then hence CLARITY for fresher perspective/ healing.

3. High alkaline, antioxidant, superfood & wholefood diet – take a check are you eating as healthy as you can?… as this in turn helps a healthy strong constitution/ immune system. We want to be eating 80% alkaline and not packet/ processed food but WHOLE food where we buy it whole and cook it from scratch.

The less processed food as possible as then there is no additives, E-numbers and hence synthetic chemicals – as this in turn help the kidney’s and liver not to be overworked with toxicity. The body can then concentrate on it’s immune system. This system works 24/7 with our white blood cells ‘sifting’ our聽blood/ lymph for any ‘abnormal’ cells or free radicals.

Antioxidant’s are also an important part of a balanced healthy diet and to help with free radicals and immune support – e.g: berries, pecans, dark chocolate, artichokes, green tea, goji berries, kale, red cabbage, beans, beet and spinach are to name just some.

For ‘super foods’ try: spirulina, wheat or barley grass, chlorophyll, maca, cacao, etc are just some of what we can ingest also.

4. High grade wholefood derived dietary supplements – we can’t get all the balanced vitamins/ minerals from our food any more due to deficient soils. So it is important to do extra supplementation, on top of a healthy diet, with a good vitamin/ mineral/ omega oil full spectrum/ balanced supplement.
